An internal framework selected for the case
Some full-arch implant restorations need a rigid internal framework. A titanium bar is one possible solution, designed and manufactured for the case. Its shape, dimensions and connections depend on the system, restorative design and available space.
Why might a bar be used?
It may provide a rigid structure, support the planned restorative materials and teeth, and meet the mechanical requirements of the case. Not every full arch needs a bar, and no single design suits everyone.
How CAD/CAM is involved
A bar can be designed digitally and manufactured through an appropriate workflow. Connections, dimensions, restorative space and fit must be checked. A patient needs a suitable design, not a bar simply because it is a digital product.
What passive fit means
The framework should seat on its components without being forced into position by tightening screws. Clinical verification remains necessary; a digital file alone cannot demonstrate fit in the mouth.
Materials, cleaning and maintenance
The bar is one part of the restoration. Teeth and covering materials, bite, screw access and cleaning space also matter. Restorative materials or screws may need adjustment or repair over time.
