Who needs a full-arch assessment?
Assessment may be appropriate when most teeth are missing, a denture is unstable or the remaining teeth have a poor overall prognosis. The aim is to compare preserving teeth, fixed implant options and removable options—not to assume that extraction is the only solution.
The diagnosis is broader than bone
CBCT helps evaluate bone and anatomy, but the plan also needs smile, lip support, speech, bite, restorative space, cleaning ability, medical risk and patient priorities.
Computer-guided full-arch planning
The proposed tooth arrangement can be matched with CBCT and surface scans. Implant positions are planned to support the prosthesis while respecting anatomy and maintenance. A verified surgical guide may transfer the plan when appropriate.
The role of multi-unit abutments
Straight or angled multi-unit abutments may create a restorative platform for a screw-retained prosthesis and help manage different implant angulations. Their height, angle and component compatibility are selected case by case.
Temporary teeth are a clinical stage
A provisional restoration is not necessarily the final material. It can help assess appearance, speech, bite, adaptation and cleaning while tissues heal. It may also need adjustment or repair.
Immediate loading is conditional
Some patients can receive a fixed provisional restoration soon after surgery, but this depends on implant stability, bone, surgical findings, medical factors and prosthetic control. A delayed pathway can be the safer plan.
Designing the definitive prosthesis
The final prosthesis may use a titanium framework, zirconia or another selected design. Fit, strength, material thickness, screw access, cleansability, retrievability and repair strategy should be planned together.
Fixed versus removable
A fixed prosthesis is not automatically the best solution for every patient. Removable implant-supported designs can offer easier cleaning, lip support or maintenance in selected anatomy. The trade-offs should be discussed openly.
Long-term maintenance
Reviews assess soft tissue, hygiene, screws, bite and prosthetic materials. Technical or biological complications can occur, so maintenance access is part of the original design.

- Which teeth can reasonably be preserved?
- Why is fixed or removable treatment recommended?
- Is immediate loading suitable, and what is the alternative?
- How will the temporary stage differ from the final prosthesis?
- How will I clean beneath the prosthesis?
- Which parts may need maintenance or repair?
